Our team

The Club guides are all exquisitely well trained by Sandflea and more than an extension of the Tarpon Club family, they are an essential part of its ethos. No worries if your Spanish is a little rusty, they’re all proficient in English. We look forward to pairing you up with our skilled crew; be that with Carlos (Carlitos), Valentin (Ferrero Rocher), Alberto (Beto), Felipe (Flipper), Edgardo (Rooster), Rafa (Pelapollos), Jesús Manuel (Tarántula) or Alejandro (Sapo).

Who we are

The Tarpon Club is a family operation, founded in 1996. Over the years the business has grown, but we’ve never lost sight of our original, inclusive family core values which make us a home away from home during your stay.

Fleet

We have a fleet of several 23 ft. pangas with plenty of room for two people and the guide. You’ll motor from the beachfront to the fishing grounds. If out for giant tarpon, after spotting a school, your guide will cut the engine to avoid spooking them, and paddle you within casting distance. When you’re in the lagoons, you’ll motor between the more distant grounds but spend the majority of your time with your guide working from the poling platform, and you’ll be casting to the edge of the mangroves or over trenches in open water - you won’t be wading.
