You may want to carve out time to go off island for a day or two to visit important Mayan ruins nearby, such as the Great Pyramid of Uxmal, the renowned Chichen-Itza, or incredible cenotes in the Valladolid area that are within driving distance. We can help you make transportation arrangements if you’d like, or if you rented a car you can just pick it up and make the easy drive on your own. Let us know what you’re thinking or ask about the options and we can help you make it happen.

There are a few tours around the island that you and your family can look into if you’re interested. Year round, there are boats that will take you out to Punta Mosquito if you prefer not to walk, to Cabo Catoche (Sandlfea’s childhood lighthouse home), to Isla de la Pasión or to Isla de Pájaros, where you'll be able to visit a beautiful little island with a lookout or a see a bird sanctuary where many local and migratory species are sighted. There are also tours to Yalahau on the mainland, a beautiful cenote-like spring that is a joy to swim in. If you’re here during the summer months, you can take an unforgettable tour to dive with whale sharks.
